Died August 6, 2006
Dad was born in Ohio & was the youngest of nine children.
He used to hop freight trains to come out to California to visit his cousins.
In Ohio, he used to deliver ice & worked in a shoe factory among other jobs.
Dad met my mom at a country dance & about 6 months later asked her to marry him.
They had 5 children & had lived on two farms.
Dad didn't do to well at farming. (That's what my mom used to say.)
He attempted to drive us out to California twice & turned around & went back to Ohio.
The third time, mom said, "It's now or never".
So we continued on to California.
He found us a home & himself a job at North American Aviation the same day.
He was a brave & determined man.
He was strong in his religious beliefs & convictions.
His family & friends loved him.
He used to sing, play the guitar & harmonica.
He also wrote songs.
Well dad,
* Your journey has been long, & now must end.
Your life has been full & rich with love.
Go with joy to a better place & a new beginning.
Go in peace & know that you've made a difference
along the way.
Go in comfort, for all you've been, remain to stay.
