Slowly cruising along on a glassy sea,
splendid starlit night with the moon on the rise.
Perfect get-a-way for just you and me.
We were unprepared for such a rude sur-prise.

Not a boat to be seen and a mile from shore,
I had just refilled your- glass of champagne.
Slipping down below deck to get us some more,
when a jarring jolt- brought me to ex-claim:

    HOLY SHIT! WHAT THE HELL DID WE HIT?
    HOLY SHIT! Was it a rock or a log or a whale?
    There's nothing off to starboard.
    There's nothing off to port.
    WHAT THE HELL DID WE HIT?
    WHAT THE HELL DID WE impale?

There's a gash in our bow, water gushing in,
and the old bilge pump has to strain to keep up.
Now the moon's gotten high as we limp back in,
wond'ring what was there to end our trip so abruptly.

        Two days later, Coast Guard checks on an oil- slick.
        Two days later, Coast Guard finds a sunken sub
        with a crew of 4 that frantic'ly went down- with their ship,
        & a soggy cargo of cocaine that weighed about ten tons.
