eighteen million toys pulled off of the shelves.
They're tainted, they're painted in rainbow shades of lead.
And it just might break the bank for Mattel.

    It's a TOY STORY FROM CHINA,
    a fun story just before bed.
    TOY STORY FROM CHINA:
    who knows where it's lead?

It's not Barbie or Batman that worries us the most.
It's the ones that infants put in their mouths.
They're sucked on & licked on & they turn kids' brains to toast.
& small magnets that they swallow don't come out.

        Way back when when we wanted in,
        all to get cheap labor and billions in sales,
        we were all too willing and prone to forgive
        and forget Tiananmen and killings and jails.

Don't blame Barbie or Batman. No, they just did their jobs,
like the workers doing their jobs to make ends meet.
But somewhere there's no care from somewhere near the top.
Does it all come back to a hopeless case of greed?

        Let's play Barbie! Or Batman!
        No longer "Made in Japan".
        This might just give new meaning
        to the term China Syndrome.
