Well, okay, I'll admit it. I'm a shark.
And not the West Side Story kind.
Or the business type down on Wall Street.
No, I'm not of that frame of mind.
Now, usu'lly I'll be cruising in the dark,
toward the bottom of the sea.
People calling me names like a Great White,
but then, modesty won't let me.

    SWIMMING WITH THE SHARKS,
    feeding to a frenzy.
    SWIMMING WITH THE SHARKS
    and it just might be the end of me.

My fam'ly's been around here for awhile
before the dinosaurs saw light,
swimming up at the top of the food chain
way before those damned orca killer whales.
I'm a little self-conscious 'bout my smile.
You see, I've got this overbite.
Sure, the lot of us need orthodontists,
but this overbite's got me nailed.

        You might have seen a few of us
        swim across the silver screen:
        Uncle Bruce in Jaws,
        Grandpa Vic in Meg'lodon,
        and cousins in swim-on scenes.
        But we've always been typecast-ed:
        vicious, ruthless, cruel and mean.
        We're the ones they call
        when they want skin to crawl,
        'cause they know you'll pay to scream.

This bus'ness 'bout not sleeping wears me out
because I've always got to move.
I can get a bit cranky and bitchy.
Just imagine how I might feel.
I love surfing. That's what I'm really all about,
and right up next to some surfer dude.
If you don't want to be my next lunch,
don't go dressing like some stupid seal.
