destroying any hope I had to get back to sleep again.

Just one would prob'ly be enough to have wakened me for good.
A thunderous cacophony to have shattered glass and wood,
each one of rumbling frequencies, more a roar than simple thud.

        to this conspiracy of disruption.

        why I've been violently torn from my dreams.

by dragging my butt out of bed after a real late Friday night.
An earthquake knocked a mirror down that barely missed my wife.
