SHE IS MAGIC

She is grace and strength and elegance
all combined in one black streak
as she charges from the back room to the front door.
When somebody rings the doorbell,
she's the first to meet and greet.
And she's sure to herald any new visitor.

She is solid, lean and beautiful,
well-designed to stand her ground,
like the time five toughs had macho they had to prove.
But the two of you would send them
to the far side of the town,
very sorry they had ever tried such a move.

She is love and life personified
in the waggle of a tail
& the way she moves her backbone under your hand.
May the thoughts of all the good times
be the ones that do prevail
with the ways she's helped your life to be more enhanced.

She is Magic.
