Santa got run over by his reindeer
falling off of our house Christmas Eve.
The roof had been all slicked & iced by Grandpa:
revenge for making Grandma be deceased.

1: We were all so proud of Grandpa.
He'd been taking it so well.
But he tired of TV dinners,
doing his own wash and needing help.

2: In the year since Grandma's passing,
Grandpa took to plotting his revenge.
Reindeer poison, traps, machine guns:
any way to cause old Santa's end.
CHORUS:

3: But as the year approached December,
Grandpa took to scheming carefully.
So he won't be implicated,
it had to seem it happened nat'rally.

4: Christmas Eve saw Grandpa hosing,
squirting water on our roof.
Christmas Day, I saw him gloating
at the tangled pile of Santa, sleigh & hooves.
CHORUS:

5: Lots of people saw the carnage,
not a pretty Christmas sight.
No one understood why Grandpa
danced an Irish jig 'til late that night.
