I often like to think of myself
as a regular kind of guy,
equipped with the skills & the tools of the trade,
a bit on the macho side.
I usually don't have a problem:
the women all have seemed quite pleased,
all except for one, dressed up like a nun,
who taught me humility.
Just so you don't go thinking of me
as a weirdo with no good taste,
I never do nuns, even good looking ones
(although it does seem a waste).
But, I was at a costume party.
This nun was giving me the eye.
So I strut my stuff, but I was rebuffed
when she said to my surprise:
"IS THAT A PENCIL IN YOUR POCKET
OR ARE YOU JUST HAPPY TO SEE ME?
Will your lightbulb fit this socket
or do you just flash in the dark?
IS THAT A PENCIL IN YOUR POCKET

Sometimes skinny little pencils
don't leave much of a mark."
At first, I thought she's talking about
the protector that's in my shirt.
Dressed up like a nerd with a brainy idea,
I thought she had meant to flirt.
The lightbulb on my hat was funny,
but now it started to get dim.
All my hopes were dashed & the lightbulb crashed
when she starts to sing again:

There's something 'bout the tone of her voice
that had caught me a bit off guard.
Before I could make up a snappy retort,
her friends were all laughing hard.
I turned & bumped a stained glass floor lamp
& smashed it into smithereens.
As I ripped the drapes making my escape,
I heard four-part harmonies:
