that I have seen first-hand:

A magic to the air,
so crystalline & rare,
bespeaks a haunting reverie & grace.
Be mindful of the spell
that enchants this sacred dell:

Beside the burbling brook
where fantasies are cooked,
enchanting lights delight those who would stray
where mystical allures
have become the oft-sought cure:

Written upon first experiencing this charming restaurant
in Topanga Canyon near Malibu, CA,
with outside dining terraces descending
the tree-covered slopes to the creek bed.
The author was so entranced by the twinkling ambience
that he negotiated a dangerous U-turn to investigate further.
The ivy-covered edifice that houses The Inn of The Seventh Ray,
often voted LA's Best Romantic Restaurant & Best Vegetarian Food,
has had a colorful history, including uses as a summer retreat
for a famous actress, an auto repair shop, a bordello & a church.
