I asked her for a turtle.
A snapper was what I got.
She said she'd get a puppy.
A pit bull was what she bought.

A parrot seemed a nice pet.
She brought me a condor home.
I begged her for a lizard.
That gator wasn't quite full grown.

I thought I'd like a fishbowl.
Piranhas now fill my tank.
If something happens to me,

    She encourages me to be playing with my pets.
    But then, none of them seems to be staying as of yet.
    The snapper grabbed the pit bull's nose.
    The condor made a lunch of those.
    Then the gator had big feathers in his teeth.
    The very last we saw of him
    was the moment that he took a swim.
    All that's left are some fish & a stupid plastic reef.

My pets don't stick around long.
Mom's blaming it all on me.
All I did was use some Drano
for getting the fish tank clean.
