1: Take a look at all the benefits
I now have since I was fired
(or rather since they chose to "let me go"):
There's a loss of weight 'cause I don't eat that much,
not to mean I'm less of a man.
There's no boss to hate or co-workers that suck,
and I'm working on a nice tan.
CHORUS:
Now I'm among the ranks of the self-employed,
I fail to see dishonor.
Among the ranks of the self-employed,
I fail to see disgrace.
2: Take a look at all the benefits
I now have since I was fired
(or rather since they chose to "let me go"):
I can sleep 'til noon. I can act like a clown.
I can always do what I please.
It's a short commute: gas expenses are down.
I can even pharght if I need.
CHORUS:
BRIDGE:
But the thing that irked me most of all,
that they'd think I might go postal,
so they had someone escort me just in case,
to collect my personal property.
But there's nothing really stopping me
if I really wanted to totally trash the place.
3: Take a look at all the benefits
I now have since I was fired
(or rather since they chose to "let me go"):
With a wealth of friends, an abundance of love,
and a stockpile full of goodwill,
I've got time to spend, a few goals that are good,
and I'm not content to sit still.
CHORUS:
CODA:
Now I keep a rigid schedule
with hours that are flexible.
And my office is as near as the closest phone ...
